Description

The Level 2 Adult Care Diploma is the equivalent of a GCSE qualification. This course is recommended for those who are looking to move into the care sector, or are working mainly under supervision. Successful implementation of the training learnt on this diploma will help organisations meet the conditions and standards underlined by the Care Quality Commission. (CQC). For this reason, a Level 2 Diploma is highly recommended for home care assistants, community carers, health care support workers and residential adult care home staff.

The level 2 Adult Care Diploma focuses on enabling quality person-centred care, developing and maintaining an individual’s independence, and improving the delivery of care to service users. Learners can customise their Diploma course to suit them, with generic, dementia and learning disabilities pathways available. Delegates will need to gain a minimum of 24 mandatory (Group A) credits, between 2-7 optional Group B credits, and at least 15 optional Group C credits. In total, delegates will need to achieve a total of at least 46 credits to earn the Health and Social Care Level 2 Diploma.

How does assessment take place?

Once we receive your first payment, you will be enrolled onto your course, assigned your tutor, and booked onto an induction. Throughout your course, your tutor will be there to guide you through the course material (via online meetings) and help you in anyway they can with your assessments. 80% of the course uses online learning, the remaining 20% uses Work Place Observation. This is when your tutor will visit you, working in a care setting, and ensure you are implementing your learning in order to perform care duties to a high standard.

Duration

The course is flexible and we encourage students to learn at their own pace. The awarding body do stipulate that candidates complete the course within 9 months, but most students will successfully finish the programme in around 6.
